“My thoughts are mostly on what will never be…

What would he have done?

Sad and empty.

I know he wants us to move on, but I still reflect, often.

He will always be with me.”

Matt, you touched the lives of so many people in the 22 years you were on this earth. My dad, Ron Arteno and brother Joseph will never forget the kind of man you were and would have become. You mean so much to them.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice! We will never forget you as we hit the 5 year anniversary of your heavenly birthday. God Bless you!

Your whole life you lived on the edge and you died the way you would have wanted. Now I wonder what kinda havoc are you causing in Heaven my love? With Friends like the Arteno’s I know you will never be forgotten. Love to my Son & the Arteno’s

In my eyes, you are a Hero. Each time I see this particular picture of Mat, I get very choked up, and appropriate words are hard to come by . To say ‘ thank you ‘ for your service to our country seems quite insufficient, for the greatest sacrifice anyone can give.
May you have the peace and comfort you so richly deserve and know that you are not forgotten to this day.

To me, anyone that chooses to serve their country, is a true hero. And those who give their lives for what they believe in are angels. Enjoy your wings Mat-you’ve earned them, as well as our never ending gratitude.
