~a day to honor our Wounded together nationwide~

We Will Never Forget The Sacrifices Of Our Wounded And Families

On May 1st SSFOA Germany honored in cooperation with Saluting Angels in Europe the many wounded at

Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany

our set up at Heaton Auditorium within Landstuhl

Silver Star flag to the left, our certificate and a silver star banner next to it….

…..to the right a flag that has been flown over Qualat, Afghanistan (view the certificate here)

SSgt Faye D. H. from Ramstein Air Base (Germany), a volunteer, was setting up the tables for  the upcoming event - everyone brought some homemade, delicious foods along

All done and just in time :-)

Wounded heros and the wonderful + dedicated staff of Landstuhl (LRMC) were dropping in over the course of the afternoon, till the late evening hours

before todays event we received a somewhat unusual request: some of the staff at LRMC asked if we had t-shirts or posters which they could wear or put on display for us…  hmmmmmm… no we didn’t, but it didn’t take long till Karl Heinz (one of our regular volunteers) jumped right in and answered the call - his words were: just mail me the logo and I get it done….  within one week we received a box of t-shirts sponsored by

here is Karl Heinz presenting his donation

….well, once passed out, one of the staff members was already showing off in it

with the official festivities winding down, it was time to get everything ready to go up to the wards and to hand out food, get well cards, blankets and our goodie bags to the staff and wounded who weren’t able to leave their stations

Karolina, Barbara, her daughter Kayleigh and Dianna with her daughter (back) are doing all the lugging while I am busy taking this photo…  he he

Willie (middle) spent a lot of time to prepare all the goodie bags which we were passing out that day

… and Dianna, an Elementary School teacher, made sure we had enough “get well” cards to go around - her and her class did an awesome job
