sorry folks, no news posts today - I am still recovering from a scorching hot weekend at the races… the MotoGP at the Sachsenring in Germany to be exact… it actually beat the temperatures at the World Cup last year and whats even worse - they only have bleachers at this race track… sheeeeeesh… on the other hand I wouldn’t have missed this either - but it WOULD have been less demanding with a little less heat…
it started off real well - the big screen was NOT working and here is the pace car, the first race (125ccm) was going to start

all ready in the line up….

we are in the middle of the race and the big screen is still NOT working !!

alright - after a lot of whistling and boohooing someone finally noticed and in order to tame the revolting crowd, they went right to work and voilà - we have a picture !

after a small break and a dive for a shady place out back, the second race (250ccm) gets on its way and its also getting harder to take any kind of pics - most of them come up empty, because by the time the camera clicks the riders are long gone… duh… well sitting at the start and finish line has its advantages and its disatvantages…

ladies and gentlemen - we have a winner… being able to see it was definitely one of the advantages

another short break before the "big" race - people were crowding the refreshment stands, either drinking their acquisitions or dowsing themselves with it…

now given the speed of the MotoGP bikes, it was clear that I wouldn’t come up with a single decent shot from this race, thats why I took advantage of the warm up round before the race, thats when they slow down a bit before the line up ![]()

… the race started off well and may I add that the sounds and impressions that you get from a live race is not even coming close to watching it on TV - especially the sound ! Well after Rossi lost the front end of his machine, crashing out on lap seven of the race, just as he was passing another rider, the suspense was somewhat gone and the crowd was visibly disappointed - but the race was still pretty exciting till the end…

… the heat was getting unbearable at the time and when the last rider crossed the finish line it was time to head for the car - still a long walk to the hill at the camping side (seen in the back of the photo), stuck going with a slowly moving crowd (next time I have to remember to buy a parking ticket at the grounds - in this case they were worth their money)
