FORD CITY — Jane Conrad is well aware the division in the country regarding the Iraq war. But Conrad thinks there is another matter that transcends being for or against it.

"I am pro-troops and that’s all that matters," said Conrad, founder of Sponsor The Troops Inc., at the VFW post in Ford City on Saturday.

Conrad, a Ford City native who now lives in New Cumberland, made that declaration at a rally led by her organization.

It was Pennsylvania’s part of a nationwide rally to support American troops titled "From Sea To Shining Sea" put together by another, larger national non-profit group that supports American troops called Operation America Rising. The organizers are hoping to make it an annual event, Conrad said.   …..more
