Bourne - Mike Kelley is headed to that place in the sand where the names are now too well known; Samarra, Mosul, Basra, Kirkuk and, of course, Baghdad. 
The Bourne police detective and National Guard military police sergeant is bound for duty in Iraq. He will have company. He is deploying with his son. 
 

Pvt. First Class Thomas Kelley, 19, is also an MP. He is a member of the same 169th MP Company as his dad but in a different platoon. Father and son are assigned to the Rhode Island Army National Guard. Their tour is 12 months, perhaps longer. 

Heading off to a war zone is never easy. You take what you can fit in a footlocker. Forget the cell phones; they won’t work. You need a satellite phone. But laptops, iPods and DVD players are essentials. And Mike Kelley says he’ll bring a folding chair as well.  ….more
